Importing Transactions

Zena lets you directly import transactions from external bank accounts and credit cards into your projects, offering a complete overview of your business finances. You can manage all your business transactions within Zena, from tracking expenses to viewing client payments. In this guide, we'll go over how to connect your other accounts to Zena and how to import the transactions you would like to track.

Please note: Importing transactions from a linked bank account is not the same as connecting your bank account to use the Zena purchasing card. It will simply allow us to better track your budget and spend as well as help us create visuals to show you where you are at each step in your project.

Only account admins can link personal or business checking accounts and credit cards to Zena. We do not currently support connections to any other types of accounts.

How to Connect Other Accounts to Zena

To get started, link your other account(s) to Zena. This will enable you to import and synchronize past transactions with your client projects and business expenses. Once linked, you can categorize and tag these external transactions directly within your Zena account.

Add a Linked Account

  1. Log in to Zena and navigate to Settings on the left navigation bar.
  2. Select Bank Accounts from the top tabs on this page.
  3. Select + Link account from the Accounts links for importing transactions widget.
  4. Press Connect Accounts on the Plaid pop-up screen.
  5. Press Continue on the Plaid pop-up screen.
  6. Enter your phone number to sign in to Plaid.
  7. Enter the verification code from Plaid into the Code text field.
  8. Find your bank logo in the list, or simply type the name of your banking provider.
  9. Finally, log in to your bank using your credentials and follow the prompts to allow the connection.

Once your account is connected, it will appear in your Settings under Bank Accounts.
