How Zena Works
Zena is software specifically built for interior designers to help save time reconciling project purchases. Simply create a project in Zena, set a budget, and fund it after receiving client payment. Use your Zena Visa virtual or physical card for all of your project purchases, and let us categorize and organize your expenses against your project budget.
Zena organizes both project expenses and your business expenses. Use your Zena business card to pay for subscriptions, office supplies, and travel expenses. Your expenses are automatically removed from your business expense fund, ensuring easy bucketing of project vs. business expenses. Never worry about spending your client's money again on business expenses.

Signing up & Applying
Zena makes it easy to get started. Create an account to apply for the Zena card. Just like with a credit card application, Zena will ask you for basic company and personal information to verify your identity and interior design business. To prevent identity theft and fraud, Zena follows strict banking regulations called the KYC process or “Know Your Customer.”
KYC is a legal requirement for financial institutions and financial services companies to establish a customer’s identity and identify risk factors. KYC procedures help prevent identity theft, money laundering, financial fraud, terrorism financing, and other financial crimes.
Information that Zena will ask will include your name, your company name, your date of birth, and the last 4 digits of your social security number. If you have an EIN (Employer Identification Number), this will also be required.
Funding Your Projects
As you sign new clients, create a project in Zena and fund it from your connected business checking account. Your Project funds will be placed in your Zena account so that you can start using your Zena card to make your project purchases.
Spending
The Zena card has no annual fees, late fees, or interest. Your spending limit dynamically adjusts based on your project budget and funding. This allows designers greater flexibility and the ability to spend immediately without the constraints of daily spending limits.
Zena offers flexible spending options for your projects and business expenses:
- Virtual Project Card: This card is tied to a specific project and allows Zena to track your budget and automate reconciliation for you.
- Physical Zena Card: Perfect for in-person purchases that you can categorize later on. We’ll even prompt you via SMS message to allow you to assign the transaction to a project or business expense.
When you make purchases, we deduct the amount spent from your funded account at the end of every business day.
Both the Zena virtual and physical cards are Visa-issued cards and can be used anywhere Visa is accepted.
